We decided to paint pumpkins this year instead of carve them.
This kid was excited. I haven't done many crafts with him since he does a craft every day at preschool but I was really impressed with how much he worked at getting the pumpkin painted evenly and didn't really make much a mess. He decided to paint the stem and then grabbed the stem to move it so he got paint all over his hand but otherwise was relatively neat about it.
It was so fun watching him that I grabbed a second pumpkin to paint. To which he painted the entire thing red. With all the other colors he had available to him he stuck with red. They are his pumpkins, he can do what he wants.
But one night I used some of the glow in the dark paint to make a face on his red pumpkin. He didn't seem to mind at all!
