A Little Bookworm

When Nolan wasn't feeling well (we couldn't exactly put a finger on what specifically was wrong)one of the ways we could tell he wasn't feeling 'himself' was that when we read him a book he didn't try to eat it. He always tries to eat the book which makes reading a chore. When he was sick he let us read 3 books in a row, just leaning back and looking at the pictures. As it turns out, that had nothing to do with him being sick. It is just a new phase Nolan has begun. He loves to read books. When we sit on the chair near his bookshelf (which I LOVE) he stares at the books as if he is trying to tell us to read them to him.

And it's adorable. Some books he laughs at when we open the page. Other books his body language says 'Not this one'. He is really enjoying the lift-the-flap books and he seems to really love Pat the Bunny (my favorite book as a kid)- except he does try to eat the flowers when he should be smelling the flowers...

While this is a wonderful period in our lives what it also means is he'd rather be reading books than sleeping... which isn't so wonderful. But it's all part of growing up and we are loving every minute of it.
