This week Dave, Nolan and I took a 'staycation' where we stayed home but tried hard not to do any chores or stuff that needs to get done. It was really a challenge but I have a list of things I want to do 'when we get back' from our staycation. It was wonderful, filled with nice walks, a dip in Nolan's pool, a picnic at Elizabeth Park, some nice snuggle time and some really fun play time. Now it's back to real life and back to tackling a big issue for us- Nolan's sleeping. He fights sleeping all the time. Napping is a struggle and bedtime is a nasty struggle. I don't get it. We're not sure what to do about it but it is going to be a hard night when this kid realizes we're putting him in his room and leaving him there until the next morning. No more singing, rocking, humming, swaddling, jiggling, pleading, begging and crying. We've decided to do it. We just need to figure out the 'when' now. Probably mid-to-late July. Seriously, it's ridiculous how much he fights it. He'll cry cry cry and then one of us will go in and pick him up and he'll fall right to sleep. We know it's the right thing to do, we need to psych ourselves up for it.
