Is it too early...

to consider Ferber a success? Here is a picture of a well-rested big boy. One who put himself to sleep after 10 minutes of crying. And one who woke up 4-5 times last night but put himself back to sleep within 12 minutes each time. (we only 'ferber'ed one time!) Yes, this is a boy who did not eat in the middle of the night for the first time ever. This is the boy who at 7am, Mom and Dad went in to rouse him for the day.
This is the boy who Mom asked Dad to peek in to make sure he's breathing a few times last night. This is the boy who is napping this morning after 3 minutes of crying and has been asleep for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

What bittersweet excitement this is. This is the start of my freedom during naps. No longer will he need/be allowed to nap in my/our arms. So sad too. This is also the end of my nursing. My last feeding to convert to formula was the middle of the night feeding. But he didn't eat last night. So that's it for that. Wow. Big changes! Dave and I are so proud of him!
Wish us luck for this afternoon and tonight! We are not considering this a 'win' yet.
