After he collects himself he explained that not only was it Nolan but he scared himself while doing it.
Why isn't there a line in the baby books to write when THAT happens. Baby's first snort... 7/27/2010. Love it!

He's recently converted over to formula and has done so with almost no interruption. Except I didn't know how much I should be giving him. Turns out I was giving him like half of what he should have been getting. No wonder he didn't sleep! So after reading documents the doctor gave us (and didn't read 2 months ago), he's getting more food which has meant an easier job sleeping.
Soon we'll introduce cereal. I'm excited (at the idea he might begin to sleep through the night) and saddened (that he's growing up and is soon going to be eating food!). It's also very unlike me to move to something new before I have the current situation figured out. But I think that's parenting- never really knowing what you are doing, just trying to figure it out as you go.
So I have the cereal, I have the spoons. Gramma is coming to town tomorrow so hopefully she'll offer some advice on what and how we should do this. Don't worry, there will be plenty of photos!

When Dave and I moved in together, we moved to the neighboring town. Dave fell in love with THAT town library. We have since moved back to the town I especially love. Ever since we joke that he hates our town library. We can borrow from all libraries and often Dave's library has books available that My library doesn't. That is the case for this month's book club book- The Little Prince. So I mosey over to Dave's library and look in the card catalog and turns out the book club book can be found on the children's shelf. So I head to the children's section of Dave's library and the librarian greets me, helps me find the book and asks if I've received a baby gift from the library? A present? My goodness! I tell her that I am not a resident of this town. She laughed and said, we don't discriminate. And gives me a little gift bag: What an adorable little gift. The bag is the alphabet. How cute for a library present. And Nolan just LOVES those baby faces books. And the Born to Read bib? Adorable. Also included was the pamphlet about how important reading is to children, a list of the baby activities Dave's library offers and a library card application (which we can't use because we don't live in that town, but still). Seriously- what a great idea!

If you can't read it, they say:
Warning! This is not a life saving device. blah blah. (Hello! It's a POOL. If someone were drowning are you going to throw a pool at them? Come on!)
Next one is decent- don't leave kids unattended. Yep, good advice.
Warning! Do not dive into this pool. (Did I mention it's 1 foot deep? If there is an idiot who would dive into this pool they probably couldn't read so what's the point in mentioning this one?)
(my favorite) Do not leave toys inside pool when finished using. Since toys and similar items might attache a child to the pool.
Attache? seriously? You think similar items might attache? That doesn't make any sense? Do you mean ATTRACT? Oh boy. Dave and I shook our head in disbelief. We thought the no diving one was funny until we read the Attache warning.
We will be sure to protect Nolan from the dangers of this pool. Thank you for the warning, pool manufacturer?

Photos of us in the pool are en route. Hopefully they will get posted soon.

When we first got the outfit/bib combo I wondered- how many bibs does one kid need? But seriously Nolan goes through about 2 a day. When he soaks one all the way through we switch it out. We probably could let it air dry and reuse it but since we have so many, why not go through them all. I am not sure how he feels about them but I KNOW he loves this one.
