It's been a while...

Ok, so it's been a while. Lots going on. Work started on our kitchen - I WISH IT WERE FINISHED ALREADY but just getting started. We are very excited and I'm somewhat amazed that we have actually begun- so fun! If i ever figure out how to do pictures, when it's finished I'll do some before and afters.

Just finished The Gathering by Anne Enright. It was kind of blah. Not sure if that's b/c I didn't want to read it or bc the book was just fair but I didn't like it, couldn't get into it and just didn't really care very much about the people or the stuff. I'll be curious what bookclub thinks about it.

Next up Five Quarters of the Orange. That should be a neat read. Also hoping to read The Bitch in the House. I am hoping to get into some new books, even if it's Harry Potter, just dying to get excited about reading again. Maybe I shoudl just give up on teh stack of books on my bedside table that are half finished and nagging me to finish them!

Countdown to Hawaii- 31...

Really looking forward to this weekend, heading up to Boston for Mara's graduation party and a Red Sox game. Should be a bit cool but really exciting to get up there and into a city. Hoping to get some good eating in. :) Also planning brunch with my Aunt and Uncle and possibly my mom and dad. That will be nice. We're off to also pick out/buy (hopefully) some appliances tomorrow after sleeping in and hitting the gym.

Had Todd come out and take a look at our walls after some wallpaper removal. He agreed, the walls are in pretty bad shape and will need to do some preliminary work to the walls before they get painted. Bummer to add on a few days more work and a few more dollars to our bill but we're in this far... have to have even walls to paint! Though the wallpaper removal has been rather easy and we are considering ourselves very lucky

I'm reading a lovely little (VERY QUICK) book called Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie. It's written with the beautiful Chinese descriptive prose. I just love the writing style and the story is cute.

Have a great weekend!
